In surfing, a wipeout is when you fall off your board while trying to catch a wave and end up disoriented underwater. Bailey paints that experience by breaking the scene into pieces and showing it from several angles at once, an idea borrowed from Cubism. Water is both her subject and a way to talk about movement, emotion, and staying calm under pressure. Each piece begins with her own time in the ocean and reflects a love for the places that shape us, inspire us, and keep us grounded.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.jackiereyskona.com\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eJackie Rey’s\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e and the Donkey Mill Art Center are excited to partner in presenting rotating exhibitions featuring Hawaiʻi Island artists.
