The vertical format reads as a single descent from surface to floor. Bands of coral, yellow, and teal give way to two dark arcs that meet at a single point, then to a pale field that holds the curve of a fin. Stained, translucent layers sit against flat, opaque planes, so each section of he water column carries its own density. From the Wipeout Series, which translates the experience beneath the surface during a wipeout into abstract form.

Jackie Rey’s and the Donkey Mill Art Center are excited to partner in presenting rotating exhibitions featuring Hawaiʻi Island artists.
